Coastal Vacation Home
Project Overview
This beachfront vacation home combines innovative design with sustainable features to create a property that harmonizes with its natural surroundings. The home includes abundant outdoor living spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows facing the ocean, and durable materials selected to withstand the coastal environment.
The Challenge
Building in a coastal environment required specialized materials and construction techniques to ensure durability against saltwater exposure, high winds, and potential flooding.
Our Solution
We selected corrosion-resistant materials throughout and elevated the structure above the flood plain. Energy systems were designed for resilience during storms, and the landscape design incorporated native plants to prevent erosion.
Key Features
- Impact-resistant windows and doors
- Solar power system with battery backup
- Rainwater harvesting system
- Elevated construction for flood protection
- Salt-resistant exterior finishes
- Expansive covered outdoor living areas
- Natural ventilation design
